Google Documents now has a template called “Take Care of My Pets, Please!”  It is a handy and organized way to leave a task list for your pet sitter.  To find this document, simply log in to your gmail account.  Then click documents (top left.)  Go to “new” and select “from template” on the drop down menu.  This template is listed under the Miscellaneous category.  There is also a “Lost Pet Flyer,” but I hope no one ever has to use that one..

Check it out!  I just got this car booster seat for Charlie from www.dogbedstreet.com.  I got the espresso one and I have to say that it seems very well made.  Charlie loves being able to look out the window.  BTW, it has a removable pillow so if your dog is not quite as small as Charlie, you can just remove it.

Sabbath Memorial Dog Rescue has opened a thrift store at 16600 N. Miami Avenue, North Miami Beach.  Their phone number is 305-323-3960.  It is a great place to donate to or do some thrifty shopping!

The South Florida Siberian Husky Rescue is holding a dog wash this Saturday, August 9th, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at VCA Hillsboro Animal Hospital, 4181 W. Hillsboro Blvd, Coconut Creek. 

The Riverwalk Trust is hosting their first Mutts and Martinis Yappy Hour on September 19th from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m. at the Briny Irish Pub.  The goal is to bring the community and their furry friends together for a night of drinks and networking while raising money for the Riverwalk Trust.  The donations give attendees two complimentary drinks, appetizers, live music, raffles, prizes and lots of fun activities for their pets. Dog adoptions will be available courtesy of the Humane Society of Broward County.

I unexpectedly had to go out of town recently.  Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to keep up with the blogging….but I am getting back into the swing of things!  Side note -  My mom finally got to meet Charlie, her first granddog!

If you have been watching the news lately than you have probably already heard about the 700+ dogs rescued on Monday from a puppy mill in Tennessee.  More than 100 of these dogs are (or will be soon) available for adoption at the Broward County Humane Society.
